Background

After a successful couple of throws events held last year, a group of UK Coaches have decided to run a series of Javelin Masterclasses in 2025/6

The rationale for the development masterclasses has come from the Javelin coaching community view that the YTP should have been aimed at the late u15/early u17 age range. It is our view that the focus should be on establishing early effective movement patterns that support an athletes ability to execute good technical positions helping to ensure longevity within the event. In providing this opportunity we will support this younger cohort to be better athletes and subsequently be better prepared for pathway applications
